Congratulations to the 55 regional winners from Allentown at PJAS and thank you to the generous mentors, recruited by our Coalition and others, who supported some of these students in their work!

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "Hi my name is Tyvon and my STEAM invention is the Techno Shoe. I will build these shoes that will let you fly. You can control the speed and height with the wristband. I plan to sell them for $10,000, but then maybe I'll make a cheaper pair for only $1,000." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces Part 3 - Juan and Neece, the architect and biologist behind the world's best dinosaur museum #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces Part 2 - "In Neece's Laboratory: 'Those eggs will never hatch!' said Juan. 'Yes they will!' Neece said. Neece had been working for months to make the dinosaur eggs hatch.... 'If they do hatch, we will be torn to shreds,' said Juan. 'I'l make them so that they're our companions,' said Neece. 'Dinosaurs are pretty cool,' said Juan. 'Can we turn them into robot dinosaurs?' 'No!' said Neece. 'What about robot dinosaur maids?' said John. 'NO!' said Neece. 'These are going to be regular dinosaurs, but maybe in the future you can make robot dinosaurs.' 'What exactly do you do?' said Juan. 'I find dinosaur fossils or bones, then I sculpt the dinosaur in the computer, then I use lizard DNA to make it, and turn it into an egg,' said Neece. 'Everybody's helping. You and Andrializ can make a dinosaur museum with dinosaur robots, and John is making a headset so I can make them smart.' 'I'm almost done with the blueprints,' said Andrializ. 'This will be the best building we've ever made. 'I hear something,' said Juan. 'What is it?' said Neece. 'It's a cracking sound,' said Juan. 'Look the eggs are cracking!' said Andrializ. 'FINALLY!' said Neece. 'They look cute,' said John. 'Yeah,' said Juan. 'Everybody put their hands in,' said Neece. 'Go Team STEAM,' shouted everyone." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces Part 1 - "Once there was a boy named Juan that dreamed of being a futuristic architect. He had been building many things in a game called Minecraft, but then he figured out that his friend Adrializ was going to be an engineer so they teamed up. A friend of them, Neece, asked if they could build her dinosaur robots that looked just like the real thing, so they accepted! They built a museum called Neece's Dinosaur Museum where people could come see the di...nosaurs. - - - 20 years later, Juan and Andrializ became the most famous architect/engineer in the whole WORLD! They built the new floating Papa Johns, the new basketball stadium that when a player gets hurt, medical robots immediately come to heal them, the better schools that have upgraded water fountains and a click button to get whatever you want in the cafeteria, the better designed airplanes, the better elevator technology that are on the outsides of buildings for a better view and have better music, and the better closets that put clothes away by itself and for boys contain all the Js." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces Meet Joshua. "I want to be a video game designer because I would like to make a game that would mix my creativity and technology. I have an idea for a game that I plan to make in the future. It is called Gladiator Tech Fighting. It is a combination of past Roman gladiator fighting techniques and future tech weapons. In the game, you are a Roman gladiator who fights to the death in an arena against computer servers and other players. You can get cool gear and awesome weapons like the blue laser battle axe or the yellow nexo spear and more! You get better gear like a level 20 helmet or a level 13 breastplate. If you make friends, the better your chances are of winning battles, and you can enter and win gladiator tournaments. This is something that I hope to make happen in the future." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "Hi, my name is Charisma and I am a math teacher. My job helps kids learn and teaches them new things. My job is important and helpful for the world because it will help kids become smart. I wanted to do this because all kids should know how to count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, and many more things. This is my STEAM job. In my job, I use technology because we use calculators. Also in my job, we use lots of math! Lastly, we use art to show that we understand what we are learning." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "Hi my name is Harelyn. My STEAM job is a movie actress and I invented a dressing room machine. I want to be an actress when I grow up. I want to do this because I want to make people smile. In the future, I'm going to make a machine that is a suitcase that pops open to become a dressing room. That way you can take your costumes wherever you want. I use art for acting. I use math to see how much I get paid. I use engineering to make the machine." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "My name is Camila and I am an interior designer. I help people design their homes to make them new and beautiful. My job is important because if someone moves into a home that needs to be fixed, I can fix it. I wanted to be this because I like to design and help people have new ideas. My job includes science because I need to know what color to mix, and I also use art because I paint the walls. I need to know math because I need to measure the space and the things that will go in it." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "Hi, my name is Diamond and I am a dancer. One day I hope to be a national dancer that travels around the world. Maybe one day I can be a lead dancer and my friend Raina can sing the songs she wants to sing. Dance can be helpful to people, so more people should learn to dance. In the future, I am going to make a machine that you have to walk through, and you will be made flexible. I use art by creating the machine. I use math to measure the length to make the machine. I also use engineering because I build it and make it work." #STEAM #Maker #LVSTEMgrowskids

#FacesoftheMakerSpaces "Hello, my name is Raquel. I create instant camera printers. The cameras not only print the picture instantly, but they also put it on the internet. That way your pictures can go all around the world."
