According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood... of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen.

Please help me to devote myself, and all that I do, to Your glory, and to the service of my neighbors. Amen.

HIGHLIGHTS | Fr. Michael McGivney, founder of the @KofC, was beatified Oct. 31, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford, Connecticut. After his portrait was unveiled, little Michael McGivney Schachle, presented his relic. Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us!

Happy Beatification Day Father Michael McGivney 1852-1890 Patron and Founder of the Knights of Columbus Father Michael McGivney was born in Connecticut to Irish... immigrants. He was ordained in 1877 and served the large Irish-American Community. In 1882, he started the Knights of Columbus, which provided mutual aid and fraternal support to the families who lost their breadwinner. His vision empowered the laity to serve the church and its neighbors. Today it’s one of the largest Catholic Fraternal organizations worldwide.
