Today, December 8th, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Today is the Second Sunday of Advent AND the feast day of St. Nicholas! St. Nicholas was a bishop from long ago. He is famous for giving secret gifts to the needy and to children. In many countries, children put their shoes out the night before his feast day, hoping for a small gift in the morning. OR sometimes they get coal! St. Nicholas is the saintly model for Santa Claus. Did your family set out your shoes last night? Did St. Nicholas bring some treats? :-)

TONIGHT IS LIGHT THE NIGHT!! The Washington Township Community Association will be holding Light the Night 2020 this evening, December 5th, beginning at 6:30pm! Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's Light the Night will be a drive-thru Christmas Lane featuring holiday lights, decorations and inflatables. Santa Claus will make an appearance (socially distanced) and guests will receive free milk, hot cocoa, candy canes, and all children will be provided with a gift bag of goodies! St. Michael's Parish is pleased to take part in this community event by providing the space for the Christmas Lane as well as the hot cocoa and candy canes!
