To ou St Paul's Community: A Thought for you today: Hello Friends,... Good Morning on this snowy morning! Please be safe if you have to be out today and please stay home if you can. Traffic conditions are forecast to be dangerous and, while we cannot predict the full extent of a storm since they are unpredictable, this storm is forecast to continue through tonight and is expected to result in several inches of snow. Our readings for this week and next are themed around healing. I am struck by the exchange between Jesus and the man with the unclean spirit. The man startles Jesus when he says, "I know who you are, the Holy One of God." He recognizes Jesus for who he is - just as Jesus recognizes him as one beloved of God and worth his healing attentions. The word rebuke is a harsh one, but the rebuke is not meant for the man, but for the spirit, or energy, that has him captive. We are loved by a God who liberates us from all that would keep us from wholeness. And who knows what becomes possible for us when we are thus freed. O Holy One of God, we praise you for your great love and tender attentions. Look upon us with grace and mercy; see what needs to be healed in us; speak that we might be free. In your Holy Name we pray. Amen. You are beloved and blessed. PrKCK Psalm 111 Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of honor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. He has gained renown by his wonderful deeds; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him; he is ever mindful of his covenant. He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.

A Prayer in Observance of Veterans Day Holy Protector, be with all observing Veterans Day. Guard the lives of active duty and retired military personnel. Comfort all who mourn those who have died in the line of duty. Heal the wounds, both physical and mental, experienced by service members. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great. Amen.

To our St. Paul's Community: A thought for you today... Hello Friends,... Yesterday was Martin Luther's birthday. Here is a small piece of wisdom from him for you today. "Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces I would still plant my apple tree." What are you planting today that will bring life and sweetness down the road? Gracious God, you hold us in your hand and our lives are yours. Help us, we pray, to trust in you, so that we might choose life and kindness rather than turn away from your call to live compassionately toward each other. In your Holy Name we pray. Amen. Blessings, PrKCK PSALM 70 Be pleased, O God, to deliver me. O Lord, make haste to help me! Let those be put to shame and confusion who seek my life. Let those be turned back and brought to dishonor who desire to hurt me. Let those who say, Aha, Aha! turn back because of their shame. Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who love your salvation say evermore, God is great! But I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer, O Lord, do not delay!
