St. Paul's Lewisburg 07.11.2020

The next few days will be tense and tiring for many. We want to take time to be in prayer, and we want to give you a space to escape to for prayer. Our sanctuary will be open tomorrow all day for anyone who would like to come and pray throughout the day and early evening. Face masks are required to come into the building and practice social distancing! Come and spend some time in prayer for the election, whether you have yet to vote, already voted, or choose not to vote, we all could use something that unites in these coming days!

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants Powered by Restream https://restream.io/ This Sunday is "All Saints Sunday." It is a day that we remember those people who have helped guided and shaped the life of the church, as well as, our own faith as well. As we live in heated and contentious times, let's take time to explore, what would those who have gone on before us think about our current circumstances. Join us for a time of worship and connection.

While we may feel ourselves getting up in arms over the civil unrest, the violence, and disunity, stop and ask why are people battling? Why are they rioting? Why are they protesting? Begin with the why? While not all motives may be pure, remember, these are humans made in the image of God. Remember when we try to dismiss the cries for justice, we dismiss their human dignity and worth. Common Hymnal wrote a powerful song reminding us of why these protests and riots ar...e occurring. Let us not try to justify the injustice in our world. Let us instead listen to the cries of oppression and respond with God's love, justice, and care. No matter the story, Walter Wallace Jr was a child of God, a member of the family, a father, and a child to someone. Every death at the hands of fellow humans warrants mourning and calls for a better and more just society.
