In the words of one of our education specialists & resident commercial sexual exploitation expert, Heather Shnyder: January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month..., and I was honored to speak at tonight’s Lewisburg Sunset Rotary meeting regarding sex trafficking of minors in rural Pennsylvania communities. Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world and is happening literally in our own backyards. Transitions of PA provides services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, sex trafficking, and all other serious crimes in Union, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties and has provided counseling, advocacy, and other services to local victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Thank you Lewisburg Sunset Rotary, not only for your interest in this important topic and wanting to become more educated and informed, but for your most generous donation to our agency so that we can continue to do the work the residents of our communities have come to know and deserve.
