There is no doubt that historically Black colleges + universities and Black Greek letter organizations produce the best and the brightest of our nation. Vice... President Kamala Harris is a shining example of these powerful institutions! WATCH as Urban Leaguers, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Howard University alumni, beam with pride at VP Harris’ victory and share what this *historic* day means for our communities. #InaugurationDay #Inauguration2021
CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS CALL FOR TRUMP’S IMMEDIATE REMOVAL UNDER THE 25TH AMENDMENT "If there is a shred of rationality or patriotism left in the Executive Branch,... its officers must act in the best interest of the nation and exercise their constitutional duty to remove him," said National Urban League President and CEO Marc Morial. https://nul.org//civil-rights-leaders-call-trumps-removal-

We kick off the first full week of 2021 in celebration. We are celebrating our president and CEO Marc H. Morial, who had another birthday on Sunday. We are ...grateful to have a leader who is honorable, filled with a passion for justice, humble yet effective enough to empower others and to develop leaders. We are in awe of his eloquence and the ease with which he can wield words to both effect change as well as bring a smile to each person he encounters. We thank him for his servant leadership and his example provided for generations to come. This week, we salute you, Mr. Morial.

The National Urban League is proud to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, the first woman elected to the office and t...he first Black person. It is our sincere hope and expectation that their election marks the beginning of the end of a tragic period of loss, economic despair, and racial strife. Black voters across the country overcame massive voter suppression and unprecedented adversity brought on by the COVID pandemic to make their voices heard in this election. Black lives and Black livelihoods were at stake in this election. Black voters have determined this outcome. FULL STATEMENT: https://nul.org//national-urban-league-congratulates-presi

Your vote represents your power and your voice. Everyone deserves to be heard.
I want to publicly thank my staff and all volunteers who helped with our Reclaim Your Vote Get Out The Vote efforts. There were 2,500 sanitation packets that were packed one by one and took many hours to do. The SVUL Street Team was out asking the community why it is important to vote, 4 Reclaim Your Vote billboards went up in the area, held a voter information session, ran radio ads, hung door hangers, held voter registration drives, offered free rides to the polls, and passed out free PPE and sanitizer at 10 polling locations to help voters be as safe as possible and not be afraid to go vote. My staff even stood on the street corner with me to tell people to vote. I couldn’t have asked for more from them, so THANK YOU!! THANK YOU volunteers!! We do this for YOU, the community. -Dr. Erin Houston

They can't vote now, but we can. "The blood of George Floyd is on the ballot," said Ben Crump, the civil rights attorney representing the family of George Floyd on what should have been George's 47th birthday. This is why we vote. GIF by Into Action
