This is the wax up of a residential commission I’m currently working on. I miss my partner in crime, Nell Roemer.
Another great article about the "psychedelic colors" of stained glass in modern residential settings, courtesy of Architectural Digest. https://www.architecturaldigest.com//stained-glass-is-havi
A little while back, Rick presented a talk at Lafayette College's Skillman Library about two Tiffany windows that were restored under his leadership at Willet Studios back in 2002. The first window pictured, the Alcuin and Charlemagne window, was listed as "lost to fire" for years in an authoritative book about Tiffany's work. At Willet, while working closely with his mentor Crosby Willet, a graduate of Lafayette College, Crosby informed Rick that this lost Tiffany was not in... fact lost but languishing in crates stored on the Lafayette campus. The second window restored was The Death of Sir Philip Sidney. Rick spoke about the restorations and specifically the two very different fabrication techniques Tiffany used to solve the problem of supporting multi-layered stained glass. One of the "fun projects" I made for my own home, set in an antique wood frame. Curious glass and rich streakies from Hartley Wood, beautiful Blenko, the wild range of Lamberts with old ox eyes and reamies. Love this glass!
Here is a great article in House Beautiful written by Jennifer Fernandez about bringing stained glass into your home. So many beautiful ideas, with glass designs in so many styles.
