Tonight, we won 3rd place in @onshapeinc Robots to the Rescue competition! We spent several weeks brainstorming and CADing a robot that cleans zoo exhibits to reduce contact between zookeepers and animals amid the pandemic. We're here at Hatboro Horsham High School for our first regular competition of the season. The next week is going to be critical for our team. We're starting to assemble our drivebase and cut "real" parts and we couldn't be more excited. We've spent a lot of our time working with MDF as our material of choice and have been leveraging our school's new laser cutter to it's maximum capacity. Iterating multiple times over a couple days is pretty awesome but we're all anxious to see this thing come together in its final form! This weekend's 2020 FIRST Robotics Competition kickoff was so exciting! Miss Daisy now has her new game challenge for this year. We spent the weekend watching a live webcast reveal, reading the rules, playing a mock game, developing small group strategies, and constructing a variety of weighted objective tables. We had some awesome discussions and ate some amazing parent-provided food. A team of parents and coaches even built a majority of the field parts for us already, putt...ing us ahead of any other year in our history!!
