Temple Ophthalmology

Dr. Bains, one of our faculty members, joined the organization Promise in Sight in Guatemala for a week to provide free surgical care to the local population. She joined a team of adult and high school volunteers as well as optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide eye care including refractions, lasers, and surgical procedures to treat cataracts, pterygium and ectropion.

Bausch and Lomb joins Temple to provide our residents with hands on cataract surgery training.

Temple Ophthalmology is continuing to care for our patients through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are continuing to provide urgent clinical and surgical services in person. To protect our patients we have reduced the number of patient visits and are providing telemedicine visits via phone and video to keep you home and safe if possible.

Temple with the help of Bausch and Lomb provide an annual cataract course to our residents as well as other Pennsylvania ophthalmology residents. This was our first year in our new surgical wet lab which is equipped with 10 microscopes with video capability to enhance the learning experience!

2011 graduation. Congrats to the graduates!

Last week, thanks to alumni and staff support, we completed our renovation and installed new Haag-Streit slit lamps, chairs and stands in the 4 resident rooms. The lamps are equipped with teaching tubes and will be a great addition to our program. Thank you to all who support Temple ophthalmology!
