Our very own MFA alum Carla LynDale Bishop is the inaugural recipient of a joint fellowship between MIT and Black Public Media! This fellowship grants a Black artist, journalist, or creative technologist - working in emerging technologies - with a virtual residence at MIT’s Open Documentary Lab. Bishop will be developing her project, Mapping Blackness, which blends new media with documentary storytelling to highlight historically Black communities which are often omitted from maps.
