Paired with my textiles from Mexico City, and an arrangement I made today just for me from a surprise delivery of flowers from my wholesaler DVFlora I feel like I’m crushing Tuesday #dvcrush #textureflorals

In celebration of Earth Day, let’s hear it for the pin frog ! I recently taught some very talented designers how I use the frog for arranging at Design Sanctuary Workshop . It’s how I taught myself to create an arrangement after reading many books and watching many YouTube videos every weekend during my free time when I was still in architecture. With everything, it does take some practice. I’ve never been a fan of foam for many of the health and environmental risks attached... to it. It also just seems so odd to put something so natural and beautiful into something so unnatural and toxic. There’s a great Account and hashtag that’s been started called #nofloralfoam @nofloralfoam and you can see what all of the amazing designers out there are creating without the use of foam. From centerpieces to installations, it’s pretty awesome! With a little creative thinking floral foam does not have to be your go to. As floral designers, I think we have a responsibility to be kinder to our earth and protect ourselves and the people we care for that work with us. #textureflorals . . . . .
