The Culinary Contest Stage at The Great Allentown Fair

Good morning all! Just wanted to post this info for people who received judging packets for the Allentown fair. The contest Junior Chocolate cookies had the 5 pm highlighted due to a time change not that I want you to pick that particular contest to judge. I just thought I would clear that up because I am getting a lot of calls. Thanks!

Well, it is that time of year again when I post all my contests for the 2017 culinary contest stage! It is a great lineup with big prizes and a great time shared by all ! These are some pictures from last year. The next post will be my contest schedule.

I want to thank everyone for their sympathies about my friend Ginny. She was one of a kind, piece of work! What can I say about her...well she was sweet, kind, and you never knew what was coming next! I am going to miss her calling me at 7 am and asking how I am doing ! Truly I wanted to shake her...but then she would say I am bringing you coffee! One of my favorite memories of Ginny was she always misplaced her false teeth, yes her teeth. One time on vacation with us girls, ...Ginny couldn't find her teeth. Guess where we found them ? We found them in the freezer in the ice cube tray. Never slept all night long and cooked spaghetti at 4 am clanging pots and pans!! Today Ginny was suppose to be at the fair with us, she loved washing all the dishes. I still feel sad but I know she is definitely an angel in heaven along with her daughter Dana!! RIP See more

Allentown fair is coming soon! Registration for the culinary contests are Thursday August 4th Friday 5th and Saturday 6th! Prizes are great along with bragging rights!! Go to the agriplex to register the fee is $12 for the contests. Hope to see some new contestants.

In the near future I will have my lineup for the 2016 Allentown fair culinary contests. A new one this year is to make a supreme cheesecake using Clover Hill wine! This one will be yumo!!!

The great Allentown fair opens tomorrow and the culinary contest stage opens with the chocolate cake contest. We have 21 cakes arriving to be judged. Stop by Ag hall to see the live judging and have a luscious sample. Pictures will be posted of the winners after the contest.

Today I am setting up my culinary stage for the fair. Lots of work to be done but I love every minute of it!

Just got some bad news last night. One of my fair workers for the culinary contest stage, Stef Statler, had a heart attack and then a stroke. She has memory loss. Please pray for her recovery which will be a long road .

It is with deepest sympathy that I want to share the passing of one of our culinary contestants Donna Marie Kramer. She had been a great contestant over the years winning many contests and also a friend. I will really miss her but I know she is surely an angel in heaven.

This year the chili contest at the great Allentown fair has a twist. The recipe must included a Clover Hill wine.
