Acupuncture for IVF Embryo Transfer (Fresh and Frozen) We’ve had a ton of new patients coming and calling to get in to use Acupuncture to both help the success of their IVF cycle as well as help their body cope with all they have to go through. We wanted to take a minute to go over the basics of how to get the most from Acupuncture for your embryo transfer. First, it’s not a one and done kind of deal. Accupuncture needs to build to a certain dosage for its greatest effectiv...eness. We recommend: At least 3 to 4 treatments before your embryo transfer. A treatment right before your embryo transfer, as close to it as possible preferably. We can either do that at your fertility clinic, or at one of our offices. We then recommend a follow up about 5 to 7 days later. If you do conceive, we generally keep treating regularly through the first trimester both to possibly prevent miscarriage, Is symptoms that may arise like nausea and vomiting, and to keep you as mentally steady as we can. If you have an embryo transfer coming up, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask questions and start early enough to get the most out of it. It’s Giving Tuesday, but this year it should really be a whole Giving Season. Fire Cupping Did you know cupping started this way? An alcohol ball is lit and is placed inside the glass/bamboo/porcelain to create a vacuum and the vacuum sucks up skin and muscle. Our glass cups are dusty on the shelf since we get more control using the plastic suction cups but there’s a long tradition of cupping in many cultures from China to Poland, and even an amazing cameo in Sicily in Godfather 2. Historically it was used for severe illnesses especially fevers and bronchitis. Acupuncture for menstruation is like taking the brain and the ovaries to couples counseling. The parts of the brain that control your reproductive system, mainly you hypothalamus and pituitary gland, send signals to your ovaries to grow follicles, which lead to ovulation, which in turn lead to having either a period or pregnancy. Lots of studies have shown that acupuncture can make that communication between the brain and the ovaries work better. One study showed that women ...were 60% more likely to ovulate after a 2 month course of acupuncture which means a more timely cycle.
