2020 ALL THE THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR! READ TO THE END PLEASE. It started in March, I sat and watch over 50 teenagers after working for months not be able to film or perform LEGALLY BLONDE JR for an audience. They cried and bonded together I cried with them, never realizing that nine months later the virus would still be here. Heard stories of all the other schools in the same boat. At first I was so scared, angry and confused on what to do. My studio had to shut down, l...ost our office in NYC because the person shared with went out of business. The loss of friends and colleagues sometimes is overwhelming. Casting was completely shutdown. Broadway closed. BUT, I have learned so much these passed nine months (seems like nine years). So here are some of the good things to come out of this pandemic. (Excuse any grammar or spelling errors it’s hard to type with tears in my eyes.) I learned not in any order or of importance: 1. What wonderful students and parents I have at THEATRE ARTS CENTER. a. TAC parents helped find a place to perform. b. TAC parents provided us a place to rehearse c. TAC students learned how to successful take class and rehearse in masks. Plus have their temperature taken and hand sanitized upon arrival. (No one complained) d. TAC students again adapted to ZOOM classes to continue learning when necessary. e. TAC teachers are amazingly gifted, creative and adaptable. I could go on here for twenty pages but you get the idea. f. TAC Directors, Musical Directors, Choreographers, staff and Assistants have out done themselves with finding ways to protect the performers and still create incredible productions. g. TAC former students came out and helped support our summer program. h. We add to our TAC family some incredibly talent students and their parents. i. TAC parents painted beautiful props and set pieces. j. There is so much more but above are just a few to be thankful for. 2. I have the most wonderful supportive friends 3. My family is creative, resourceful and loving 4. The community stepped up and helped with a facility to perform in. 5. I have learned some helpful new computer skills So I know I have missed something’s but I am still singing Gee, How Lucky Can You Get Thank you everyone. Have a Happy Holiday. Wishing you a healthy, happy full of love New Year. Kristine Lewis
