From the Desk of the Executive Director, Damon L. Humes, MHS It is with mixed emotion that I formerly announce the departure of Will T. McNeil from his position as Lead Prevention Specialist, within the Testing and Linkage to Care (TALC) Services Department at the COLOURS Organization Inc. Mr. McNeil first began his journey with COLOURS in 1999, where he remained until 2004, first as a participant in the weekly support group, Men of COLOURS United, and facilitator of the yout...h group, 20 Times. During this period, he also became COLOURS’ first Outreach and Health Educator with the Brother’s Collective, a CDC directly funded collaborative project with Mazzoni Center, GALAEI, ASIAC and Safe Guards, and also served as Care Case Management Navigator. In 2006, Mr. McNeil rejoined the COLOURS team as a Health Educator and 3MV facilitator; and remained until 2008. Once again, Mr. McNeil shared his wide array of skills, expertise and local and national resources to support COLOURS’ HIV prevention services portfolio in 2013, until the present, as Prevention Specialist and then promoted in 2016 to Lead Prevention Specialist. Please know that Mr. McNeil is not leaving the social, health and human services field, yet redirecting his efforts to focus on health education through the use of fine and performing arts within the House and Ball Community. Additionally, Mr. McNeil will continue to recruit, train and provide as needed support services at COLOURS through its Volunteer and Community Services Program. We are truly grateful to will for his many of years of service to COLOURS, the City of Philadelphia and in the public health arena. As a lifelong member of the COLOURS family, expect to see his face out in the community and making a difference. We salute, we celebrate, and we sincerely thank Will T. McNeil for all that he has done, and all that he will continue to do! So please join me in thanking the Legendary Community Lifesaver, Will T. McNeil, for two decades of selfless, tireless and continuous service to LGBT and people of color communities of Philadelphia and Southern New JerseyCHEERS!!!

Happy Mother’s Day! Mother's Day day is a special time to acknowledge, celebrate, remember, and/or pay tribute to your mom (house mothers), wife, aunt, sister, grandmother and/or caregiver. At COLOURS, we honor the bonds that exist between parents/caregivers and those whom they taken care of, helped to raise, gave birth to, and/or have guided and mentored. In celebration of this special day, we invite you to share/post pictures of your mother (biological or chosen mother) or... caregiver to our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing the beautiful pictures of your Mother's Day tribute posted here. Again, Happy Mother’s Day from the entire COLOURS Organization family! #coloursorganization #colours #coloursphilly #mothersday #mothersdaytribute #LGBT #POC #LGBTPOC #CBO #ASO #communityleader

FROM the DESK of the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Damon L. Humes, MHS On behalf of the COLOURS Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board, staff, volunteers, interns, clients, program participants and other stakeholders, I extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make Philadelphia Black Pride 2019 possible. First, I thank the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, AIDS Activities Coordinating Office (AACO) for their continued support of our HIV prevention programs, P...hiladelphia FIGHT for their unwavering support of our youth programming and the Urban Affairs Coalition for helping to ensure the continuity of our efforts. I thank Philadelphia Black Pride for their partnership over the years and for continuing to select COLOURS as the official HIV testing provider for all Pride activities. Additionally, I extend a special thanks to Le Thomas for his devotion to impacting city-wide change by partnering with COLOURS on our joint Community Reception and Forum: Effective Engagement of Social and Familial Networks. You are truly an amazing leader and we are fortunate to have you as a community partner and friend. I thank all of the clubs, bars and party promoters for your kind, selfless and generous donations to COLOURS. It is because of each of you, (Boxers PHL, Voyeur Nightclub, Woody's, Tabu Lounge & Bar, Social Life Entertainment LLC, The PHIRM, Chris Hunter Ent. & Simply Christopher, and Greg Wilson and G-Style productions/Tito's), that COLOURS was able to be an integral part of Philadelphia Black Pride 2019. Please know that there are no words that fully express my appreciation. You pledged your commitment to me and to COLOURS... and delivered abundantly! Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Much love and gratitude to all the community members who participated in COLOURS' activities, including tested, received information or came over to our table and provided us with feedback and/or new ideas. We are so grateful for you! Special thanks to our former Interim Executive Director and Board President, Lee Carson, MSW, for facilitating our community discussion and for always being available to help out. Your love and support are boundless, and we forever celebrate you! Lastly, I am grateful to the COLOURS Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board, staff, volunteers, and interns, for the countless hours each of you contributed to make this weekend possible. This would not have been possible without you! To Will McNeil, Lead Prevention Specialist, and La’Seana Jones, Prevention Navigator, I sing Happy Birthday in my Stevie Wonder voice! Thank you both for working during your special weekend. Again, "thank you!"
