Just like the massive Quantitative Easing of the Federal Reserve is giving investment banks too much liquidity and driving up the stock market artificially so, too, are historically low-interest rates creating a "demand-pull" in the housing sector. That is, and simply, housing prices are rising too fast.

Occasionally, I will post more macroeconomic-related aspects of the housing sector of our economy. This can include employment statistics, regional, state, and national economic growth, manufacturing, the national Current Account as these all have bearing in housing prices and overall housing ownership rates.. It is important to weave together Congressional actions with that of the investment and community banks. This provides a framework to see the intersection betwe...en law and practice when it comes to interest rates and mortgages, as most real estate (commercial and residential) have mortgages encumbering them.
