The Mansfield Foundation is proud to announce the Melanie Lynne Sager Memorial Scholarship that will provide aid to the top senior in Robert Packer Hospital’s Radiologic Technology Program. This scholarship was established in memory of Melanie Lynne Sager, a 1989 graduate of MU’s Xray Technology program. Melanie was employed at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital as a Xray technician. She passed away on November 14 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Michael and sons Derek and Shane. Because you care, this past year we were able to help provide nearly $660,000 in available student scholarships and gave nearly $45,000 in emergency grants through the COVID-19 Student Relief Fund to students facing emergency financial hardships through no fault of their own. With a generous gift of $250,000, the Mansfield Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) takes aim at reducing student loan debt by teaming up with the Mansfield Foundation to establish their new endowment, the Odyssey Scholarship. Through the establishment of this game changing scholarship, MAC demonstrates their commitment to keeping the door to education open by providing students with limited means the financial support to be able to graduate without the concern of crippling debt hang...ing over their head, which will significantly open up so many doors to the future that might not be open otherwise. To kick off this new endowment, MAC has provided an additional gift of $50,000 to immediately award to students this academic year. MAC understands this year, more than any other, students are facing additional hardships and challenges in achieving their educational dreams. Through this additional generous gift, MAC has immediately set to work to keep students in college without saddling them and their families with more debt than they can repay. This #GivingTuesday we are proud to announce our newest endowment fund, the Jump Start College Scholarship. A special gift from Ward Manufacturing, this new scholarship program not only continues their commitment to Ward employees, but also expands their commitment to education by providing additional merit based scholarships to our region with financial support to students in Tioga, Potter and Bradford counties as entering freshman to the college of their choice. In addition... to supporting their own by providing educational opportunities to the children of Ward Manufacturing, they have been making our communities stronger for decades with their philanthropic investments.
