The Mindful Experience for Children 14.01.2021

Instead of Happy New Year, a friend recently said, "Happy Now!" 2020 gave us a lot, including the gift of slowing down and being more present in our lives. May each moment be fully lived in a happily ever NOW.

It's a great time to feel into gratitude for all the ways you are blessed, and remember, you are a miraculous blessing! Feel it, know it, be it.

2020 has been a time of uncertainty and also a time of slowing down, which can be uncomfortable for our planners and those who are use to being on the go. It can bring up questions and a new sense of clarity. It can bring excitement and fear. Either way, there has been less business (busy-ness) and more time available to place our full attention on family, on Nature, on simple pleasures and on simply Being. ... How do we leverage this time to make the most of it, so we can prepare for more sustainable meaning, joy and peace in our lives NOW and in uncertainty? Check out our most recent blog, All of Us Around the World are Being Called to Mindfulness.

Parents and educators, be easy on yourself. Times of uncertainty can bring up a lot of fear and anxiety. ... Collectively, we are all focused on surviving, whether we realize it or not. And, we may find ourselves having a hard time slowing down or getting going... Perhaps you feel the need to start new projects, change careers, and/or attempt to do the things that you've been putting off. Or, overwhelm is becoming too big, especially with home-schooling. You may find yourself shutting down, and that can feel really scary too. Give yourself a break, let yourself be just as you are, where you are in this moment. This is mindfulness. It is not about doing anything or arriving anywhere. It's about being with what is without "it" consuming you. There is nothing you need to do but be where you are. You can be with that project fully. You can be with the overwhelm fully. You can be with lounging on the couch fully. No judgement. No shame. No guilt. Because, what we resist persists, and often times, we resist our discomfort and paint it with judgement, guilt and shame. BUT, if you can allow yourself to be with the discomfort (what is), you may find it begins to become smaller and smaller and self-love and compassion grows bigger and bigger. Or not, and that's ok too. That which your are seeking, is seeking you. The awareness of presence. It is alive right now in this moment. Surrender.
