Here's how to keep your counters clutter free and your kitchen organized & functional with a few tips from Pro Organizers . 1. Use drawers wisely. Kitchen counter clutter normally is a result of running out of space, take a minute and declutter those drawer. 2. Minimize multiples and gadgets. Confession I’ve only used my melon baller once. 3. Corral cooking utensils in an eye catching canister.... 4. Relocate infrequently used items. The kitchen counter is prime real estate... if you only use the stand mixer during the Holidays... tuck it away. 5. Create a system to eliminate junk mail as it comes in the door. Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go- unknown Does the thought of switching out seasonal clothing stress you out ? I remember the process before creating a system... plastic bins & piles of clothes . Here a few quick tips that can ease the process.... Quick Closet Edit 1. Trim down your wardrobe. Yes... you’ve heard it before but I’m gonna say it again because it’s extremely helpful! Ask yourself, How often do I wear this? If I was shopping today would I buy this? If it needs repaired or amended, am I willing to pay to get it fixed? Purge approximately. 2. Create boundaries. If you have a closet and/or dresser dedicated for clothing stay within that space... avoid finding new areas to store your expanding wardrobe. PRO Tip: If you purchasing a new item practice the swap out system buy one give one . 3. Store your clothing properly. Properly cleaning each clothing item is the first step, whether you’re simply moving them to a closet in a spare room for packing them in a storage container. this is also the perfect opportunity to freshen up your closet or storage area this will aid in fighting off any pest. Give it a try and let me. Need help getting started? DM me we are currently booking in-person and virtually session for October. credit : @pghcitypaper 2017 @davedicello
What is decanting? While the term is most commonly used in the community or by chemist , it’s also become a term used to describe the process of removing foods from their original (disposable) packaging and placing them into more permanent, often clear, containers or a basket. Simply put if you by dry goods in bulk and store it in a air tight container, that’s decanting. If you empty snacks into a into a bin, that’s decanting.... This practice has become more popular due to our current circumstances surrounding Covid. Some are skeptical of storing prepackaged items in their pantry or refrigerator. Others have adopted this practice because it eliminates visual clutter & the possible savings associated with extending the shelf life of dry goods with the proper storage container. Me?? I’m somewhere in the middle... I definitely decant most of my dry goods and prepackaged snacks but not everything. Ready to try it . Here are a few helpful suggestions. 1. Select the right container * air tight * clear * variety of size * Use baskets for items such as chips, crackers, and cookies Pro Tip: Be realistic, the goal is to have a tidy yet functional pantry. 2. Decant * remove outer packaging * attach cooking instructions * mark expiration date on the back or bottom of container Pro Tip: Avoid the temptation to refill items prior to completely emptying, due to different expiration date. 3.
