My name is Roger Kuna, and I am a first-year medical student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am a former EMT-B for Acute Care Medical Transports, and the experience gained through two years of working in EMS prepared me for a future career as an osteopathic physician. EMS helped give me crucial experience, including communicating with patients, performing under pressure, medical terminology and techniques, and interpersonal skills that I will use for the rest of my life. I was also lucky enough to make lifelong friends while serving the community with a job I love. After two years in EMS, I feel more prepared than ever to tackle the challenges ahead.
