Hanna's Diary: December 13, 1937 Bright but very cold. Pump frozen again. Got Christie off at 7:45 AM home at 5 PM. Cleaned out rat cage, glad. He had present from William Baldwin of a group of photos of Johnstown. Fine. I did some telling fixing, some reading & not much else. Started my lace Christmas dinner table cloth & some job! Carried all guns and swords upstairs.

Hanna's Diary: December 12, 1937 Bright but still very cold. Got Christie off at 9:30 with Gotwals boys for a trip through Delaware. I did up the mornings work, had lunch & nap, found pump frozen - first time this winter. Christie home safe at 7:30. Reports a fine time & brought an urn full of holly & lots of berries. Found my favorite rat "Spottie" dead. So sorry. 2 visitors (Delaware 2)

Hanna's Diary: December 10, 1937 Bright, but coldest day - 8 this AM. Boys staking on pond in meadow. Christie went too. Christie in Wilmington this AM at Nickolson funeral, home this evening busy preparing for tomorrow. I did some tedious mending & some reading. That's all. Had the last of the venison for dinner. We surely do enjoy the warmth of the little stove. 3 visitors
