I ended up volunteering with SewFaceMasksPhilly.com; helping get materials to volunteers who were sewing face masks for healthcare professionals and those who are the most vulnerable among us. It’s made me hyper aware of how much good we can do just by wearing a mask. If everyone covers up, the rate of infections will drop precipitously. Masks Make the Difference! Hello!!! I'm working with Mask On! PHILLY to spread awareness about the need for masks in the inner city and to get free masks to those who need assistance in the Philadelphia community. I will be showing sewists how to use industrial sewing machines, virtually, and also how to construct face masks. Mask On! PHILLY will be providing a large workspace for sewists to work. Each work station is 7ft apart and will be sanitized after every use. Sewists can use the space to make t...heir masks to sell but must agree to donate an agreed-upon amount of masks to the community. Fabric and notions for donated masks will be provided.
