Being a part of a wedding day is a bit like stepping on holy ground. We take it very seriously that we get to be the ones to spend a majority of the day with t...he bride and groom. And we loved every moment of the time we got to spend with Megan and Justin on their wedding day! Things began with photographing Megan’s lovely details, dress, custom invitations, and flowers. Then, of course, lovely getting ready photos in natural light in one of the many beautiful, historical spaces of the Stone Mill 1792. Can I just say that one of my favorite moments of the wedding day is that moment the mother of the bride is helping her daughter into her dress and they both realize she is getting married?!? So, so special. From there Megan and Justin shared a sweet first look followed by lovely bride and groom portraits together and photos with their intimate, but oh-so-caring bridal party. For their ceremony, we flew over to their home church where their own pastor performed the ceremony surrounded by some of their closest friends and family. Also, that aisle moment gets me every time. Family photos turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the day, because even though we may only get to interact with our couple’s extended family for a few minutes, we love getting to know them! And this was the part of the day when we had perfect light for a few minutes! Their reception was calm and familial just like Megan and Justin and we ended the evening with some lovely husband and wife portraits near the beautiful pond and archway on the property. We felt treated like family every moment and think this may have been the calmest wedding we have ever been a part of! We even got to eat, which may be a first :) Megan and Justin, all the Lord’s blessings on your marriage, and thank you for letting us be a part of your beautiful day! Friday Introduction: Joe Hepner Co-owner with his wife Pam, carpenter and framer by trade, professional parking director, maintenance man, landscaper, and everything in between. As you may know The Stone Mill is family owned and operated. Joe and Pam purchased the venue in 2014, along side their two daughters and countless friends they rehabilitated the 1700’s mill. Joe’s expertise and experience in historic restoration on projects such as the Hanover Shoe Factory, Baltimore’s Mill No. 1, B & O Railroad museum and many others were invaluable in bringing the mill back to life. If your at the venue be sure to ask about his real passion in life, sailing.
