Are you a white person who unfriended people during this election cycle because they support racist ideas and racist candidates? or a cis-gender man who stopped talking to coworkers or relatives because of their toxic misogyny? If you're not talking to them, who's influencing them now? Please stay in those hard conversations; the world needs you to spend a lifetime unravelling these ideas from the people around you. Thanks for putting in the work! How's this been going so far? Let's share advice and questions in the comments

No matter what we look like, how much money we make, who we love, or how we worship, every one of us should feel confident that our votes count and our voices are heard. By uniting across our differences this election season, we will ensure every vote is counted and swear in a new government elected by and for us. Happy Friday, everyone! In today’s photoset, local fashionista Akwelle Quaye shows off a casual, classy fall look with a blue-green top, beige pullover, and grey denim pants from Thrifty, and some fresh Nike Air Max 200s. Also zoom in on their impeccable nails-- gorgeous on their own, and accentuated by the earth-tones of the fit alongside the gold jewelry. This snazzy outfit, like many others, would not have been possible without Thrifty’s services. By offering gently used and affordable clothing to the Garfield community, Thrifty helps keep people dressing stylishly and their wallets full. However, Thrifty needs your help! The roof sprang a leak and we need your help paying for it; to donate, head to https://ioby.org/project/raiing-roof

Our volunteer profile for Miss Cookie continues, as she has more valuable insight: I love people, I get to meet all different nationalities here. I love that I get to work with people fresh out of jail to let them know that they are loved-- that you can always begin again. We like to let them know that they are heard...word gets around that we have an ear to hear them and to help them out the best we can, so it’s known in the community that we’re here for them. A majority of volunteers here joined to help someone in need, because we were once in need and that’s how [our relationship with Thrifty] started. Help keep this important store afloat, and donate to fix Thrifty’s roof at https://ioby.org/project/raiing-roof!
