This Christmas Season, my colleagues and I have decided to do two community events, one to benefit the Schuylkill Children and Youth, and the other to benefit the Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. For the Children and youth, we will be doing a toy drive. Some ideas include but are not limited to:... Younger Children: barn animals, plastic push tractors, dump trucks, baby dolls, hot wheel cars, super heroes, books and craft items Older children: boys and girls socks, boys twin comforter, sports hoodies (size Men small and medium), fuzzy pillow and blanket for girl, make-up, body wash, and body spray For the The Nursing Home, we will be collecting the following items: Homemade cards (especially since children will not be able to visit the nursing home this year) Crossword puzzles (large print) Word search books(large print) Coloring books Crayons, Ink pens, highlighters Personal Care items: Shampoo/conditioner, body wash, lotion, chapstick Store Bought baked goods: pre-packaged cookies such as oreos, chips ahoy, etc. Non-slip fuzzy socks Please drop off your unwrapped items by Monday, December 21st so we have enough time to deliver the gifts.
