Our Spring Small Business Gift Sets are now available online. All sets feature locally sourced and handmade goods from small businesses. We are proud to feature over 20 small businesses in our sets. All items are thoughtfully packaged and shipped for free anywhere in the U.S. Order by 4/26 to arrive by Mother's Day. We also have "Make at Home" kits for a bee/butterfly watering dish and a toad house. These are great projects for kids and adults and don't require you to return them or bake them to finish. All pieces are pre-fired and ready for you to decorate. Stacks of bins and buckets can mean different things at different times to a potter. Summer crafts circuit, big gallery show or....moving out of a studio. I have occupied many different types of spaces as a studio. Train station, basement, warehouse, abandoned apartment with no heat or power, garage, smaller warehouse, storefront....well it is the storefront that I am moving out of now. All of these different spaces have propelled me towards the next thing in a positive light.... This one will most likely be the last one I have to move out of for a long time, never the less I can’t help drifting back to the excitement of every new space and the nostalgia of the last one. I plan on shuffling around my next space in my 80’s thinking it will be some one else’s problem to move this one. Happy New Year everyone. Keep on keepin on. If you're like us, this summer went way too fast, but also seemed to drag on forever. We have little kids and not being able to do our normal travelling and activities has been hard on all of us. With that in mind we've put together three kits to use up some time on a hot Saturday afternoon. Our DIY kits each include a fired clay piece, a set of 6 various outdoor ceramic paints, a brush set and any other accessories you may need to finish it. Morning folks, we finally had enough clay kits to fill the 16.5 cubic ft kiln so we will send out emails to everyone and will have the kids work out on our no contact table. We still have to organize and package so give us a day or 2. Thanks for you patience on these. I will admit the logistics on this project were not well thought out but live and learn I suppose.

The last few months have given us a lot of time and space to make some big life decisions. After a whole lot of number crunching, priority listing and looking at what we want the future of our business to be, we have come to the decision to sell our Millvale storefront. This wasn't a decision we made lightly. We poured our heart and soul and a lot of money into making this building what it is. We will miss being part of the Millvale business community and seeing our students ...and customers on a daily basis. But, this is a good decision. We feel lighter and more free to make business decisions that fit our lives and our family. Ton Pottery will continue to exist and thrive as a business, it will just look a little different. We plan on focusing more on online sales and (when people can come back together) running workshops and firings, along with small pop up events around the city. We are so happy with this decision, and hope hope we haven't disappointed too many of you. We are so thankful for all the people who have supported us at our Millvale location and hope that you continue to be a part of whatever our next step is. We have put the building up for sale, so we wanted to post now, so that no one was caught off guard. But until we sell, the business will continue as usual. We are not signing anyone new up for classes, but will finish out existing classes and students.
