TOP HAT ARTISTE PLAQUES 2018, 2019 and 2020 RECIPIENTS!! Have you ever noticed the plaques above the couch near the water cooler? Have you ever wondered what they are for? Well, these are the Top Hat Artiste Plaques. These plaques are in recognition of the longevity of Top Hat students. There are three categories of plaques: Artiste Nouveau, Artiste Belle and Artiste Maitre. Each one symbolizes an achievement by the student whose name is listed. The Artiste Nouveau Plaque is ...for students who have taken over 100 private lessons. The Artiste Belle Plaque is for students who have taken over 250 private lessons and the Artiste Maitre Plaque is for students who have taken over 500 private lessons at the studio. Through these plaques, we celebrate the students' dedication to their study of dance and their commitment to Top Hat Dance Studio. Starting Today! Salsa and Hip-Hop Youth Summer Workshops This workshop series is designed for new dancers to begin dance classes without having to wait until the fall semester. We will be offering two class styles in this series. For ages 7-10) we are offering an introduction to hip-hop and salsa classes. Both classes will give dancers the best start with an introduction to movement and dance skills in their particular style. After much anticipation, we are happy to announce that the Rumberitos Salsa Program will return to the Top Hat dance floor! ... We will reboot the program by offering two classes, both held on Saturdays. The Salsa On2 Level 1 class will be offered at 3:00 pm and the Salsa On2 Level 2 class will be offered at 4:00 pm. In the coming months, we plan to add additional classes to the roster to include: Bachata, Ladies' Styling, Shines and Advanced Footwork.

Classes Cancelled Monday, February 1! Due to the current and pending inclement weather, we have decided to cancel all classes for Monday, February 1. This includes the Youth Ballroom and Hip-Hop Classes. For private lesson students, contact your teacher for cancellation. Stay safe, stay warm, go sledding and enjoy some hot chocolate. Top Hat Business to Business Network: Bringing the Top Hat family together on another level! Top Hat Dance Studio is proud to announce the inception of the Top Hat Business to Business Network. This is a program that has been in the pipeline for some time. However, in the aftermath and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, its release becomes more relevant. In the Top Hat community, be it students or parents/guardians of students, there are a number of business owners, tra...desman, and self-employed workers. Among them include plumbers, travel agents, florists, auto-detailing, home-renovation, insurance, health and wellness professionals and many more. Small businesses are the backbone of a community and we all need to support one another. With the Top Hat Business to Business Network, Top Hat small businesses will support and promote other Top Hat small businesses. When a Top Hat student is in need of a specific service, they will have a directory of businesses owned and operated by fellow Top Hat students to choose from right at their fingertips. Why give business to a random company found on a Google search engine, when you could be supporting a fellow student? SECOND BELLY DANCE CLASS BEING ADDED IN JANUARY The Belly Dance class at Top Hat Dance Studio continues to grow, building excitement and momentum every week. With the word of our class spreading, it has now come time to add a second Belly Dance Class for the new dancers who wish to join the program. Beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2021, we will add a Level 1 Belly Dance Class to our roster. The class will be held at 7:00 pm with the now Level 2 Belly Dance Class immediatel...y following at 8:00 pm. As with other group classes in our dance curriculum, the two-level program will allow students the ability to partake in both classes as they are in the transitional period between both levels. Some students who are in the Level 2 class of a particular dance style, continue to do the Level 1 class and use this as an opportunity to refine their technique. We offer a combination discount of $5.00 for doing both levels of a given class, which will be applied to the student’s account. As we prepare to launch this new class in January, we ask your help in spreading the word. Please share this information with anyone who might find benefit our enjoyment in the class. Join us every Monday night at 7:00 pm with a Live-Stream Line Dance Class with Dara Johnston. In this class, you will learn the latest line dances to today's favorite music. This is a great dance style to pursue, keeping yourself active while maintaining social distancing, from the comfort of your own home. Line dances have accompanied many popular music styles since the early 1970s including pop, swing, rock and roll, disco, Latin (salsa), rhythm and blues, and jazz. Dance...s like the Cha Cha Slide, Electric Slide, Wobble and Cupid Shuffle are a few of the line dances that have consistently remained part of modern American culture for years. Some of the Line Dances being taught in this class include: Seniorita, Jerusalema, Country Line Cha Cha, Dance Money and more. New dances are added each month.
