Quick Post- It looks like we are crazy busy with all the cars you see here! Above the Shoppe is 4 apartments and most have more than one car for the people to get to work. So do not let that stop you from coming in and getting your favorite cheese or trying a new one!

Quick Post- Brrrr! Winter is here! This week some seasonal and new cheeses are here! Raclette, Comte, Tilsit, Nokolost, and Brick. Also we will be doing the Christmas cheddar starting on December 12. The cheese baskets are going on sales next week! In them we have-Gouda, Danish Havarti, Colliers cheddar, Montamore, Baby bells and Cheese ball. I think the price to be $29 each. I brought in a chunk of Parm-prosciutto that I will feather slice for your tomatoes and my water buffalo fresh mozzarella!! Also have the Burrs ya and regular mozzarella balls. Brought in some more halloumi to tease your taste buds! Thanks so much for your support! bill

Hello to all! If you drive by the Shoppe and do not see the open flag it is because of a multi-vehicle accident. Thank goodness there were no injuries. My main sign is ok but the base was hit hard. Usually I park there but had moved to do my daily chores. Could have been much worse. This week I brought in the Halloumi cheese, fresh mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto ham, burrata, sliced Raclette, and sliced fresh mozzarella. Look forward to seeing you all in my mask! Lol! Hello to all! I am working on the cheeses from Ireland for our March madness! How the day falls this year is on a day that I am closed because of stocking up and cheese deliveries. I will try to open later in the day. Some of you will want the cheeses on the 14th. I should have them all in by then and have the tables set up so you can taste and vote. Also for your info we will have a bag piper on Saturday the 21! I am sure that all days that the music and fun will be going strong! Thanks so much for your support! bill

Cheese of the day is Etorki. It is a lovely sheep milk from the Basque-which is a mountain region between France and Spain. Sheep cheese has such a lovely taste and finish! A taste all its own! Some thoughts---- I will still be doing fondue into February. Sure you will not forget that the Super Bowl is this weekend. It would help to make the game better if you have a couple chunks of cheese to snack on! And if you are traveling to a friend or family it would be a nice gesture to give a chunk of your favorite cheese to the host! So buy two and share one!! LOL! Cheese this week is a local raw milk Colby. It was a very popular cheese back in my father's day. Dad brought it in from Wisconsin in 2 to 3 pound rolls. Then it seemed to fade and Longhorn and Jack seemed to step in. Both of those cheeses are still very popular. Colby has a stronger taste and a creamy tang finish. Stay warm and stay healthy! Quick post. Cheese of the day is Beemster X-O (extra old) Cow milk and naturally lactose free! Lovely taste with salt shot and caramel finish. First time in a long time that I made this the cheese of the day-the main reason is that because of its age it tends to crumble when cut! Sort of like my kitties-it tends to do what it wants to do! It is a Gouda from Holland that has a blend of cow, goat, sheep, and water buffalo milk! Aged with a salt-shot a lovely different finish! I think it would be ideal cheese with your favorite brew. Second, a Spanish cheese called Mahon. If you enjoy a tangy finish, than this cheese is for you! Hello to all! Trying something different today. It is a local cheese that copies a French cheese! It is local and copies the French Morbier which has the layer of ash. In this local the layer of vegetable ash is used to separate Sheep milk from Goat milk! Yum! Not for every one but tasty! The cheese is from Otterbein Acres called Little Stream. Cheese of this week makes a return! Back in time with my Father there was a cheese from Wisconsin called Colby. It was very popular at our market stand as well as our customers. I can not remember exactly but it encountered some problems and a switch was made to Monteray Jack. Maybe customer preference. Well a local maker, Sunset Farm has decided to do a Colby and a rumor that Wisconsin has it too! Stay tuned! Like I did last week I am going to a different area of cheeses. Today I am doing a Summer milk Swiss called Emmentaler from Switzerland. I find Swiss cheese a challenge to sell because each person has a distinct taste that they want in that swiss-where as in other cheeses they seem to be more flexible. I did a quick message on my outside sign. It says-Come on in! Wanted to get a message before the next rain! Lol! Doing Arena Goat milk Gouda today. I think a lot of people have had a bad experience with goat. I hope the taste and finish of this wheel will renew their taste for goat. Also have Port Salute from France.
