Neighbors report a strong petroleum odor at Sixth Christian and Passyunk. City has ordered a halt to excavation there today.
The owner has removed the trees we planted about seven years ago; they had grown quite tall and were a lovely reminder of the park. Lately the trash strewn, overgrown and weed-filled lot looked rather sad. All of the Triangle Park Rangers who tended this garden spot can be proud of their work and know that it contributed enormously to the renaissance of the area at Sixth, Christian, and Passyunk. In the end, the park lost out to avarice and governmental timidity.
