Beautiful day for skiing on the Clarion Little Toby Trail. The Island Run (mile 2.6) parking area is plowed and there is a double set of ski tracks out to mile 4 (about 1 1/2 miles out).

Tress have been cleared from Ridgway to CCC camp (mile 8.5). We do not know if there are additional trees blocking the trail beyond mile 8.5. Thank you to Board member Bill for coming out helping! -DL

Trees Down on Ridgway end of trail. Yesterday's strong winds knocked down over a dozen dead trees and there are trees across the trail in at least 6 places between mile 1.5 and 5.5 (the start of the railroad section). The trail is passable, but bikes must be carried over the trees and in one spot (mile 1.5) you'll have to limbo under the tree. One of our maintenance heroes will be out tomorrow (Tuesday) morning to remove the trees. There are also numerous branches all over the trail so please be careful. We do not know if there are additional trees down past mile 5.5. If you see any downed trees please contact us thru Facebook. -DL

You don't think of rainy days as a good day to be outside, but they're perfect for trail surface repairs. With both the trail and the new surface material wet, conditions are perfect for optimal packing, especially when you can borrow a 4,000+ pound roller. Today we filled in this dip, smoothed the transition at the road crossing and took care of a nasty rut just after the Ridgway Borough maintenance yard. The roller is 33 years old and was headed for the scrap yard. It was saved and with a little tinkering and some fresh paint it's got a new lease on life.

This is a pic of a Ridgway Girl Scout troop that recently cleaned up the first mile and a half on the rail trail, removing all litter. According to leader Sandy Lawrie, the girls had a beautiful night and the girls were happy to help out.
