Incorporating video humanizes your business, this is why it is important to have a person in front of the camera representing your business. Realizing that most companies aren't in the habit of hiring only camera trained employees, here are some tips for "non-actor" talent. NERVOUS ABOUT SCRIPTS?... Memorization can be difficult and at times stressful. It is okay to break up the paragraphs into 2-3 sentence segments. In many cases, videos are edited together and incorporate b-roll (filler/supporting shots) that can help the video flow together. Practice the script before you get into the studio. Read over the lines several times, each time playing around with the emotion, enunciation, and energy levels. (A mirror makes a good audience). (This also applies when doing voice-over work....where only your voice is used in the video). Loosen up! Know that you will ALWAYS have several takes (even professionals will have a few takes before they deliver the perfect one). Laugh, wiggle, and shake out the jitters. Have fun with this opportunity.
