The fog lifted and we had a great show. A ton of work as you can imagine. But thanks to my car show crew things went pretty smoothly. Good people, great food. If I could have changed anything it would be the temperature. 93 degrees was hot for May. Thanks to all that attended, it was nice seeing everyone. We will have more pictures on our website later.
Getting set up for our 2nd annual car show today. Wee bit foggy but the British cars will be right at home.
A few quick pictures of some projects we are doing. Getting a top on a TR4( really a TR4 with a 4A top frame) and a TR6 just out of the spray booth.
Look what came in the shop this morning. A 1937 MG SA. What a neat car. We are replacing the wiring harness. Should be a fun project.
Marketing is not the first thing I think about. But here are a few jobs we are working on. To me just typical but installing Patton fuel injection on a Stag, painting and assembling a Healey and Spitfire. Have a great weekend everyone !
Some quick pic' this morning. Breathing new life into a TR6. Old frame to rusty to repair, donor frame on left. Painted and ready for parts. Looks chaotic but is pretty organized.
Quick update on the Porsche project, really starting to look like a car.
Not British car related but we went to a local museum yesterday with some CPTC members. Had a great time, the Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles is truly a nice gem to have so close. Most of the collection is made in PA. Here is a 1926 Mack, this would have been cutting edge back then. What a nice truck. I also noticed this horse drawn dump wagon, hand a hand crank on the side. Pretty cool.
Update : Dispite the snow storm the Porsche project is moving forward.
Quick morning shot of the spray booth, some parts in color. Will be priming the body today.
Interesting project in the paint area, we are doing minor body work and painting a 1989 911 C4 Porsche. Should be fun.
Some interesting things you find while working on a 54 Bentley. The starter has a standard motor but with a crazy extension on it. Then the distributor is a dual point. You just never know what you'll find.
Everyone here at Triumph Rescue and British Wiring would like to wish you all a great and safe Thanksgiving. I wanted to introduce our newest member of the team. Picked it up yesterday in Phila. It replaces an older Consew we bought used many years ago. We have to make a carpet set for the other DB5 and this new machine will work out great.
We do a shop project once and a while but this TR3B is the next candidate. A friends father started it so we will finish it. Not bad as TR3 goes, has the usual issues but still very doable. The TR6 is finished and ready for sale, that was also a shop project. Frame off, rebuilt eng, trans and rear. Basically a new TR6. Spread the word, thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 32K.
Interesting day at Triumph Rescue. Although the cars we got delivered are a little unusual, they should both be fun projects. A 1955 Bentley and a 1965 Aston Martin DB5. You don't see 2 DB5s together very often.
We hope everyone is healthy and safe during this time we find ourselves in. Not to make light of anything but wanted to update as to what came in the door this week. If nothing else a brief distraction. Not totally unusual here but certainly not every day either. First a 1962 Studebaker Lark, been sitting for a long time. Will be getting it running, driving and safe. I remember these in high school what a blast to drive. The second one is a 69 Corvette, been sitting for 37 years, has just under 9000 original miles on the clock. What a projectile this will be !! Needs the usual stuff to get it road worthy again. Can't wait for this test drive. Be safe everyone !
Brian is rebuilding some seats for a 1949 Triumph Renown. Will look very nice !
Amongst all this Corona news right now and just trying to deal with our changing environment I thought all could stand a break. Here is our newest restoration and was delivered this week. Headed back to its home in Illinois. What a fun project.
Another fun project, Triumph GT 6 re spray. Was not painted well by the last shop. First car in 25 years we were able to strip with a razor blade. Paint came off in sheets. Won't come off now. Just have to re assemble.
