"Some of my favorite things about Rhian is that the advice she gives, not only can/should be applied to that person she is working with, but with everyone and can be sued for different pieces as well. It is very helpful and I try... to be a sponge as she gives HELPFUL tips!" "Rhian is a fantastic teacher. She is very encouraging, but makes sure that she's taking care of any problems with her students' playing. I've definitely improved with her." "I love how supportive Marylene is. Youth Chamber Connection (YC) offers chamber music education, enrichment, and community-service performance opportunities for members of Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras (TRYPO), the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra (PYSO), and other interested young musicians. YC is administrated by TRYPO staff. All musicians approximately ages 8-19 are welcome to apply, regardless of your music program affiliation. Musicians, ages 12-19! Did you know music theory skills help you become a more expressive performer? The connection is real! We still have some space available to study music theory in the TRYPOsphere online music conservatory this fall! In Music Theory with Shantanique Moore, we’ll study the basics of theory; look at phrasing, musicality, styles, and history; and take a closer look through the lens of 2020. Students will learn to analyze a piece of music and demonstrate ide...as learned in class. This class will meet Tuesdays from 7-8:30 PM, October 13 - December 15. Ms. Moore is an accomplished musician and flute instructor and is the eighth recipient of a fellowship from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's EQT Orchestra Training Program for African American Musicians.
