With no outdoor markets for us right now, and social distancing, I have found myself with just a *little* bit of extra time on my hand. I repainted our kitchen cabinets a darker blue (this blue is the blue I wanted the first time around but just couldn’t find). This blue will also be the accent color we use for The Alexander House. I can’t wait to see it. Each winter season we seem to put just a few more finishing touches on our house. Fun progress from last week! Tearing up the entire kitchen floor/sub-floor and finding this great hard wood flooring. Sorry I’m so bad at taking before shots. Just trust me that it was some very dated linoleum flooring and these raw hardwoods look much better. Now just to remove all the tiny staples left behind... Our goal is to re-sand and reseal all the hardwood floors in this house. This kitchen will be extra hard working serving as the production base for Tucker&Co. Gr...anola and serving our cafe customers. The work continues at The Alexander House! Earlier this week we removed the wallpaper from both the upstairs bathrooms, which luckily came off much easier than previous rooms. Both rooms have great bold tile that we are going to keep and design around. This one has teal tiles, the other bathroom has more of a straight up light blue color. Side note on the wallpaper, I think it would *almost* make great upcycled Christmas wrapping paper, if not for feeling like the glue backi...ng is very toxic. So grateful for this friend. In a global pandemic it can feel like we are all on our own. That we have to do everything we need or want to do completely by ourselves but we don’t have to! We CAN safely help each other and show up for each other, if we just get a little creative. It’s getting real tough out there, and as it drags on it is getting super exhausting, SO let’s all commit to being encouraging/helpful to just a few folks in our life this week.
