We're back with another #AlumniCrushThursday! Meet Paul-Winston Cange. Paul-Winston graduated from Temple in 2016 and is currently 3L at New York University School of Law. In previous years, he has worked as an associate at The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights where he focused on federal criminal justice and education policies. Currently, Paul-Winston is the National Organizing Director for the Young Black Lawyers Organizing Coalition. The initiative of this organization... is to recruit black law students to protect the black vote in this year's election. After law school, he plans to work at the Washington D.C. office of White & Case LLP, a large international law firm. Paul-Winston's advice to Owls: "Don't listen to what anyone says that you cannot do. You can accomplish anything you want as long as you devote yourself wholly to a goal. Your passion and desire is more important than your grades. Most importantly, learn to tell your own story and you can write the ending." #TUliberalarts #templealumni #TempleMade

We're back with another #AlumniCrushThursday! This week, we're highlighting Amelia Pharo-Frank. Amelia graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in Political Science and Religion with a certificate in Paralegal Studies. She currently works as an Intellectual Property Paralegal for Seagate Technology, LLC. Amelia started as an intern for a large equipment manufacturing company, and was hired on after a year as their in-house paralegal. After working for them for four years, she was able to quit and work full time for herself while building a startup. Amelia began her current position in 2019 and found it quite easy to transition back into the corporate world. Amelia's advice for Owls: "Take ALL the internships that sound interesting." #TUliberalarts #templealumni #TempleMade

This week's #GradCrushWednesday is Nick Robinson! Nick is a 5th year graduate student, studying Political Theory with his secondary subfield being Comparative Politics. As a political theorist, Nick focuses on democratic theory. He is currently writing his dissertation that interrogates the conflict and contestation around urban redevelopment projects. Nick evaluates community benefits agreements (CBAs), which are agreements that follow the announcement of some development... project (these are often used around stadiums, for example) where the community sees such a project as being detrimental to its interests, so it organizes against the project. CBAs allow the project to go through, but it is contingent on making concessions to the community to mitigate fears of the effects. This fall, Nick is teaching Politics of Identity in America, as well as American State and Local Politics! Lastly, a fun fact about Nick is that he ran a marathon! Keep up the excellent work, Nick! #TULiberalArts #TUPoliSci
