Artists, Makers, Doers, Dreamers: have I got an open call for you!! So I started this project in 2018, with an idea, a spark, and a lot of emails, lol. I wasn't... sure it could float, but the idea acquired friends and support, and partners, and the indomitable spirit of one @maargopolo and then, POW, @knightfdn stepped up and now we have a Full Blown Thing happening up here in Kensington!! The project pairs artists with local business owners to create amazing, creative window displays that will be up from April to July this year. Aside from the fact that we will be raising up a lot of great small businesses, and activating spaces with ART, I'm so pleased that the project held out until they could pay the artists properly for their time and materials. That, for me, is a triumph, because god knows artists need to pay their bills to thrive!! So- the deets are in the drop down under ABOUT on both www.genevievegeer.com and www.juggernautphilly.com-- if there is a glitch on the website- DM me directly and I'll send you info directly. Or you can email Jonathan at Impact services and he can get you the info. We are thrilled to see what you come up with!! . . . . #callforartists #philadelphiaartists #applynow #phillyartistsunite #phillyartists #muralartistsphilly #muralart #opencall See more

For my last day at Tyler, I'm gonna get on my soapbox here and say... Short answer: YES! Long answer: HELL YES!... Riding public transportation is probably the single best thing an individual can all do to combat climate change. I've spent more years of my life living without a car than with one. I have one now, but most of the time I use my bus pass. The car is reserved for grocery/laundry trips. The only reason I own it is because I inherited it. For most of my adult years in Silicon Valley and Seattle, I used buses and bikes to get around. It wasn't till I moved to Virginia (Richmond) that I bought a car, and only because their racist (yes, racist, but that's too long for a post) public transportation system was a joke and I couldn't do things I needed to do on it. When my $500 car died here in Philly I did not replace it. Let's help others get on this bandwagon and make public transportation free. /soapbox

Interesting take on designing sound as a landscaping tool. https://dirt.asla.org/2019/12/10/designing-with-sound/ Fun fact: Seattle actually has a Soundgarden--from which the Seattle-based band took their name. I've visited it and it's fascinating: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/a-sound-garden
