Family Service & Children's Aid Society of Venango County's General Counseling Program is designed to provide skilled therapeutic services to individuals and families with the goal of enhancing their life to be more useful and satisfactory. Therapists work one on one with participants, as well as with families that are experiencing functionality issues at home. So far during 2020, General Counseling has provided classes to over 900 individuals struggling in different aspects in life. Glade Run Lutheran Services - Glade Run, located in Utica, Pa, was developed to provide alterative education for students in grades K - 12 experiencing behavioral health issues and/or autism. Glade Run offers an emergency closet of basic needs; including food, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and more to not only the students and their families but also other community members. Cindy Brozeski is an Oil City Area School District teacher and a long time supporter of United Way of Venango County. She chooses to donate to United Way to give back to the community that has given her so much happiness over the years. VARHA is a non-profit organization offering horse-assisted therapy programs to children and adults with disabilities in Venango County. Over the years they have expanded their programming to include families in drug and alcohol treatments, at risk youth, veterans, and more. They also offer a lift-assisted horse drawn cart for individuals unable to ride horseback. Participants in the program experience improved self-awareness, concentration, self control, and much more. Physical benefits often include increased strength, improved coordination and reflexes, and improved muscle relaxation. On Thursday, December 3rd from 5:00 pm through 6:00 pm local artists will be performing two songs of their choice on 96.3.
