In a study published by the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, UOC anesthesiologists Dr. Fred Khalouf and Dr. Keith Zora tested the safety and efficacy of cooled radiofrequency ablation (CRFA, a minimally invasive knee pain procedure) against a single hyaluronic acid (HA) injection for the treatment of pain related to knee osteoarthritis. Our study found that CRFA-treated subjects demonstrated a significant improvement in pain relief and overall function compared with subjects treated with a single injection of HA.
