The 2021-22 school calendar has been approved. The first day of school for students is set for Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021. The final day of classes is Thursday, June 9, 2022. High school commencement is also slated for June. 9. https://tinyurl.com/y5gkwyo2

The USC School Board approved the restructuring of its student support services - creating two separate areas of responsibility, special education and pupil services. Special education will continue to be led by Cassandra Doggrell. Lauren Madia was promoted to the position of director of pupil services. tinyurl.com/2flzc3ek

The USCHS High School Jazz Ensemble's performs Rick Hirsch's Comfort and Joy. Since we have not been able to rehearse as an ensemble this year, this is our 2020 Virtual Performance. Happy Holidays from the USCHS Jazz Band!

Class 6A No. 1 Upper St. Clair remained unbeaten Tuesday thanks in large part to its defense. The Panthers shook off a rough night of shooting and came back to beat visiting Bethel Park, 57-53.

Two Upper St. Clair High School seniors were named candidates in the 2021 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Harrison Chui and Richa Mahajan were among the 4,500 selected to apply for the program from the 3.6 million high school seniors graduating this year. https://www.uscsd.k12.pa.us/Page/13325

USC sixth grader Ryan Katukota is leading a coat and boot drive through Chinmaya Mission of Pittsburgh. Donations will benefit Family Promise of Western Pennsylvania and Light of Life Rescue Mission. Drop off new or gently used donations at 144 Warwick Drive. The deadline to give is Monday, Jan. 18.

USCSD is now accepting applications for the spring cohort of its Extended Teacher Certification (ETC) Program for non-educators who are interested in serving as substitute teachers. The program is aimed at those who hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject from an accredited college or university but do not have a Pennsylvania teaching certificate. Congrats to USC senior Ethan Dahlem - named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's 2020 Fabulous 22. This season he completed 114 of 188 for 1,567 yards and 14 TDs, while rushing for 385 yards.
