The Vandergrift Public Library has in person service Monday-Saturday at the hours posted below. Computer use and printing, copying and faxing and in-house browsing are available. We want to thank our patrons for their patience during this pandemic. Porch pick up is still available if desired. Please phone the library(724-568-2212) before visiting or at the door for this option. All items required for return are now being accepted at the desk. We had a fun evening yesterday with GASP, Kona Ice of Butler and artist and educator, Dave English Families learned about the importance of clean air with engaging activities and puppetry! A big thank you to these amazing educators and Kona Ice for donating a portion of proceeds back to the library. Thank you to the Casino Theatre for letting us use their outside space!

Enjoy an evening with us on July 1st to kick off the Summer Reading Program! *Stuff and adopt your own animal: You will pick your Furry friend of choice, stuffing packet, rainbow wish star, and birth certificate. *Receive information on how to sign up for the free summer reading program (Runs July 1-Aug. 4) and get a free goodie bag (while supplies last).... *Mike the Balloon Guy will be here creating free balloons animals to take home! Ever wonder what it’s like to be an engineer? From helping hospital patients to managing stormwater in your neighborhood, design, build, and test your solutions to real world challenges! Join us for GSK Science in the Summer with the Carnegie Science Center! This is a fun free STEM program in partnership with The Franklin Institute. http://scienceinthesummer.fi.edu For youth going into grades 2nd - 6th.... Each sessions will be limited to 10 participants and will be held virtually on Zoom with a Carnegie Science Center Presenter. Each child will receive their own STEM kit to use during their session. Session options(choose one): Wed. 8/4/21 11am-12pm Wed. 8/4/21 1pm-2pm Thurs. 8/5/21 2pm-3pm Fill out the form below for each child individually. Someone will be in contact with you to confirm session availability and your child's engineering kit pick-up date. November’s Create a Story Grab & Go kit is now available at the library while supplies last! You’ll receive your own blank book to draw , write, and create in to make your own story. There are also storymaking ideas and supplies to decorate a for when you are reading and getting inspiration from other authors and illustrators . Also included are cool pencils and a Thanksgiving window cling! Suitable for ages Pre-K to age 10... One per family Please come into the library to claim your kit. They are available at the circulation desk. Kits are safely prepared

All santa letters have been mailed today! If for some reason it does not arrive by next Wednesday(taking into consideration of any postal delays)- please let us know asap. If you placed an order yesterday through tomorrow- those letters will be mailed out early next week. Online orders are now turned off. If you wish to still order a Santa Letter- you may stop into the library tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 12th 9-12pm. Tomorrow is the last day! Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser! We hope the letters bring big smiles & magic to your Christmas!
