It still amazes me how a miniature helicopter that is small enough to fit in your pocket can produce such amazing visuals. Sometimes I forget I still have my drone but then when I use it, I reminded how much of a difference aerial footage can make to your videos. This footage was captured in St. Petersburg, Florida. That pink building is The Don CeSar, which is a famous hotel from the Gatsby Era in 1928. It was so cold this past weekend but I really wanted to get out and test my new Sony A7c that I purchased last week as my new B-Cam/Photography camera. The Sony A7c is the smallest full frame camera on the market right now. I had a Canon 5D MKIV and it was a fantastic photography camera but it lacked the video specs that I needed. I needed to buy something that would mesh with my Z CAM footage seamlessly from a quality and color-science standpoint. The Sony colors nowadays a...re almost identical to the Z CAM’s and the A7c also contains a 24 MP sensor that can shoot video in 4k up to 30 frames per second. Being that I came from Canon originally, I had no idea how to work around the Sony interface. I love a simple but clean production set. Just earlier this week, @sirkevinshaw and I shot some quick social media videos for @buteratinneygroup. We used my Z CAM E2F6 as the main camera, paired with a FujiFilm XT2. It was sorta tough to match the color science between the two cameras but I made it work. What a long year that we can finally begin to put behind us. I know this pandemic affected everyone differently, but I have to be honest and say that the lockdowns and self-isolation gave me the exact motivation that I needed. This year I started my own business and began to network my ass off. With that being said, as hard as it was to make money during those first few months and even right now, I got the chance to take a step back and better my craft. 2020 was probably a r...ough one for most people around the world, but I can’t lie to myself and say that I didn’t take a giant step forward in my career at the same time.
