First, let me start by telling everyone how thrilled and proud I am that Interboro High School is 1 of 63 schools across the US (out of 750 applications) to receive a State Farm Youth Advisory Board Grant of $100,000 to enhance the Interboro Aquaponics Lab. As a State Farm Agent, I am elated but as parents with children in the school district Rick and I are estatic. It will be exciting to watch this program continue to grow and influence the youth in such an innovative and ...impactful way. Thank you to the teachers and adminstrators for allowing me to be a part of this process. We appreciate everything all of you do everyday. Check out this video to learn more about the Aquaponics Lab. In short, students raise fish, fertilize plants with the fish water, and harvest the crops for consumption. They are ready to take this classroom to the next level which will include packing and delivering the food and vegetables to both Loaves and Fishes and to our Interboro families. Watch out for more info as the Aquaponics Lab takes on a new level of learning.
