Elementary School Reopening Information Dear Glendale Families, On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Glendale School District will be opening its doors for face-to-face instruction in a hybrid model. We will be assessing the situation in our community on a weekly basis in an effort to get students back in school full time as soon as possible. ... The hybrid form in the elementary school will look as follows: ALL K, 1, 2 students will come all three days. Students in grades 3-6 will be divided into two groups (A and B). Students will be informed of what group they are in by their classroom teachers. If you are not sure what group your child is in by Monday, 1/18, please contact the elementary school office at 687-4263. Because we are starting in the middle of a three-day week, Group A students will be in person on Wednesday, January 20, and Group B students will be working remotely. Group B students will be in person on Thursday and Friday, January 21 and 22, while Group A students work remotely. Learning Support students have the option of attending all three days if they desire. Learning Support Teachers will be reaching out to those parents to see what their preference is. Life Skills students will continue coming half days. We are only planning for the three days next week at this time. We will make another announcement on Wednesday, 1/20, what the following week will look like as the elementary hybrid model could change to include more days of in-person instruction. Please remember to check daily for cold-like symptoms, fever, stomach issues or any of the symptoms on the attached checklist. If these symptoms exist, do not send your student to school. If anyone in the household has any of these symptoms, please contact the school nurse to discuss. We truly appreciate all of the family and community support we have received during this difficult situation. We know that this has been challenging for students and families and greatly look forward to greeting our students soon for in-person instruction. Mrs. Bacher Elementary Principal

High School Reopening Information Dear Glendale Parents and Students, On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Glendale School District will be opening its doors for face-to-face instruction in a hybrid form. We will be assessing the situation in our community on a weekly basis in an effort to get students back in school full time as soon as possible. ... The hybrid form in the high school will look as follows: Students will be divided into two groups (A and B ). Students will be informed of what group they are in by their advisory teacher and their classroom teachers. If you are not sure what group your child is in, please contact the high school office at 687-4261. Students in the A group will attend school face-to-face on Mondays and Tuesdays. Students in the B group will attend school face-to-face on Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays will be a cyber day for both groups and will be used for office hours and make-up work the way we are conducting Wednesdays now during all virtual learning. On days that students do not attend face-to-face they are still required to log into Google classroom during their designated class period for instruction. Students with an IEP have the option of attending all four days if they desire. Parents were asked early in the year what their preference was and we still have that on record. If you are informed that your child will attend 2 or 4 days and you want a change, please let us know. Life skills students have the option of attending all 5 days for a full day. On Wednesday January 20th, Group A and four day students only will attend school face-to-face as it is our first day back. Then starting January 21st we will be on the schedule listed above. Please note: If you or your child are sick or have COVID, please do not come to school and call the school nurse for further instructions on how to proceed. I know that this year has been a very difficult year. Rest assured we are making decisions based on the health and safety of all involved, students, teachers and support staff. We understand that face-to-face instruction is the best form of education and we are working to return to normal as soon as we can. Sincerely, Brian Stacey High School Principal

Tomorrow is Glendale Elementary’s first WIN Wednesday... what I need. That may look different for different students. Title time, Special Ed time, academic support and enrichment activities are all planned but are all designed to meet individual student needs. This also happens to coincide with our first big snow of the year, so stay safe and warm as well as enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer. Please contact your student’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Do any of you know someone (probably a female) from the class of 1979 with the initials of JMM (I believe the initials are.)? Could also be TMM. I have had a class ring for a number of years and I am trying to find the rightful owner. Send a message if you can help or have a yearbook to check from that year or previous years in case they had quit sometime after purchasing their ring. I am hoping I have the right Glendale HS.

Dear Parents and Guardians, Last evening at a meeting of the Glendale School District Board of Directors, it was decided to extend virtual learning at the district until at least January 20, 2021. Also, no sports or extra-curricular activities will take place during this time or until such time that the district would return for two consecutive weeks to the moderate transmission level from our current substantial transmission level. This decision was based upon the continual ...increase of COVID-19 positive cases within our district and surrounding communities. We will continue to monitor and evaluate this plan in the coming weeks. Again, we realize the challenges that virtual learning presents and will work to support you and our students moving forward. The safety of our students and staff is at the forefront of our decision making process. We encourage everyone to maintain your focus on public safety guidelines in the hope of controlling the spread of this virus. Our ultimate goal is a safe, full return to face-to-face instruction. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. We would like to wish everyone a safe and healthy Christmas and New Year holiday. Be well, Edward G. DiSabato Superintendent

The Homecoming parade scheduled for this evening is not a District organized event. The parade is being coordinated by an outside organization. The district is following the approved Resocialization Plan in regards to not scheduling a Homecoming parade and dance this year. The current Resocialization Plan states that the district will evaluate on a case-by-case basis for each event. Every consideration will be taken as to not expose students to unnecessary or potential high-r...isk exposure. The decision to not coordinate these events was based upon the best interest of the health and safety our students, staff and community. Many health and safety protocols have been put in place to maintain our efforts to offer full face-to-face instruction opportunities to our students. District groups not participating in the Homecoming events are following the decision of the district administration and our current resocialization plan and not making their own independent decision on the matter.
