Bleached, Bromated Flour. It's the cheapest and easiest to work with. Works well in equipment for mass production. Most commonly used Flour in the USA. Is it considered safe? Only in America. It has been Banned for many years in Europe and other countries. California requires disclosure of it's use. Bromate is considered a probable carcinogen by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer. It is classified as a carcinogen in California. T...he FDA says: The agency has encouraged manufacturers to stop using bromated flour but has not banned it. (other countries banned it long ago) At Virgil's we use Imported Flour from Italy, made from Non-GMO wheat and slow milled to reduce heat and remove any need for additives. Never Bleached. Never Bromated. We use the Best. If you feel lousy after eating your favorite Pizza, it just might be the ingredients. ASK THEM, what Flour they use?... do they Shred their own Cheese to avoid additives?
