To the Valley View School Community, . I hope this message finds you well. Together we are living through a public health crisis unlike anything we have ever ...experienced in our lifetimes. School districts in Pennsylvania and around the nation are making decisions about how to best begin a school year full of uncertainty. No two schools plans are exactly alike, even neighboring districts have starkly different approaches. While many differences exist, one important commonality can be found. All schools are trying to do what is best and right for their students, families, and communities. As you know, the Valley View SD approved a reopening plan earlier this week that begins the school year virtually. While this was a welcome relief to some, others are understandably disappointed that the physical return to school has been delayed. Still others are unsure what to think. Please know that we too are disappointed to delay seeing our students physically. Our students are the best part of our school and we miss them! We are committed to bringing our students back physically just as soon as we are confident that we can do so safely. Our difficult decision to begin the school year virtually was made with the health and safety of our students, their parents, our teachers and staff, and our entire community at the forefront. While we may look back weeks from now and realize we were too cautious, we certainly don't want to regret not being cautious enough. Valley View is known throughout the region for its tradition, pride and sense of community. As a community, we are close-knit, caring, and supportive. We need these traits now more than ever. I humbly ask all of our stakeholders for their patience, kindness, and support as we plan for and begin the 2020-2021 school year. . Administrators, teachers, and staff are working hard as we speak to prepare for our first day of school on August 26th. Our Chromebook Reservation Form can be expected later today on our website, www.valleyviewsd.org and our Virtual Platform Parent Training Series will begin in the next two weeks. More information to follow. . Thank you for your continued trust and support in the Valley View SD! . Sincerely, . Dr. Michael J. Boccella Superintendent See more

Members of Côr Dathlu gathered in the village of Seven Sisters today for the sad occasion of the funeral of our friend and fellow chorister Gerald Evans. We sa...ng three songs outside the family home ably supported by friends from Côr Meibion Onllwyn and Côr y Gyrlais namely Llanfair, Salm 23 and Calon Lân to the tune of The Rose. We last performed Calon Lân at our annual concert at St Cynog’s Church last October, the rendition of which is attached. See more

Thanks to all who made this happen! The Abington Heights High School Honors Choir and Honors Orchestra with students from Valley View High School and Mid Valley High School present our Virtual Ensemble recording of Mozart's Coronation Mass - Gloria. This audio recording would not have been possible without countless months of hard work IN SCHOOL. As music teachers, we promote learning in school in it's BEST form. We were not able to get recordings from all the students who w...ere going to perform a live concert at Wyoming Seminary on March 30th. This performance is only a small section of the entire work. We wanted to give students an experience to remember instead of dropping the entire performance because of the pandemic. We submitted audio files and did PAY to get it professionally edited. Abington Heights Music Department wants to thank Allison Murray Covell, Dana Anne, Gina Maria, Linda Orseck, Stephen Murphy, John Vaida, & John Vaida for their hard work and dedication to our students both in the classroom and online. Please promote music in schools as we move forward through this difficult time. Students need to create and collaborate next to one another. They need the ensemble experience to build character and create memorable experiences for in-person audiences. Here is the YouTube link to our music project. Please like and share in support of music the arts IN SCHOOL. https://youtu.be/P42bDrjQJVw
