2020 has been a challenging year for all of us but we have have managed to come through it together. During the year we have sadly lost some some of long term employees but we have also added new people to our team. Despite all of the challenges our employees and sub contractors have risen to the occasion to overcome all the adversities thrown at us. Walker Lumber wish all our employees, customers, sub contractors and our local community a very safe, happy and prosperous New Year.

WHAT DOES FRESHLY HARVESTED LAND LOOK LIKE? This week we visited a site that was harvested for timber a few months ago. When we harvest land, our foresters carefully choose specific trees to cut in order to promote new and healthy growth after the job is done. As you can see from the picture, these woods now have plenty of room for sunlight to feed through, allowing for fresh trees to sprout and inviting animals to graze and make habitats. As proud members of the FSC, we understand the importance of handling the environment responsibly and creating sustainable methods of harvest. Not only do we make sure to leave our sites looking beautiful, but our management of forests increases wildlife in the area...which is perfect for the upcoming hunting season!
