Steer Weigh in is this Saturday, November 7th from 9-11 a.m. A few reminders... *All calves must be castrated and dehorned BEFORE they are tagged this weekend.... Prefer castration done by cutting. *Maximum weight at fall weigh in is 900 lbs. *Entries will consist of ONE steer per member with an option of a spare or swing spare (for Washington and West Alex). Swing spares must be declared to ensure the proper tag is put in. *A state issued tag is required by final weigh in. (See attached photo) *County bred steers must be declared at initial weigh in. **The West Alexander Fair and volunteers will be following CDC's guidelines to ensure everyone's safety. -Please have a pen with you to fill out paperwork, we will not be passing out pens. -As always, one trailer (family) will be unloaded at a time. - Use social distancing and limit physical contact. - Wear mask when less than 6 ft apart from people. -STAY HOME IF YOU ARE SICK! ~Take care of yourself, the volunteers and our community~ See more

The Spooktacular Drive Thru Awards was successful. Thank you to all that participate and especially to the clubs that set up a station. Even thought it was cold and rainy, it was so much fun to see our 4-H families and volunteers. Happy Halloween!!

Calling all teens!! Here is a great virtual club to help you decide on a career path! Learn how to create a resume, ace an interview and plan for your future!

This message serves as an official announcement that we will slowly begin the process of re-instating selected face-to-face programming opportunities for Pennsy...lvania 4-H, including some club meetings. These events and activities must be approved by the State 4-H Office and Penn State Extension Leadership before they will be allowed to proceed. These events and activities are subject to strictly adhering to all the policies and protocols that are established and required by Penn State University. Club leaders will be required to work with their County 4-H Educator to develop a request/plan utilizing a safety plan provided by Penn State University leadership. That request will then be submitted to the State 4-H Office and Penn State Extension Leadership for review and approval. As we are trying to safely transition back to face-to-face programming, we need your understanding and patience because this process takes time. We strongly encourage clubs to continue engaging in virtual meetings and learning experiences. We recognize all too well that this will be difficult, but the health and safety of our youth, our families, our volunteers, and our 4-H staff must continue to be our most important and central guiding concern.
