By the end of January, all of the households in our San Jose Dipina community project are expected to be connected to a water supply and will have 24/7 access to clean water for the first time. Matt Nespoli shares six lessons he has learned from founding and leading Water for Waslala for 14 years: (1) listen, (2) focus, (3) fail, (4) who is in the driver's seat, (5) creating change, and (6) seeking meaning in life.
Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing a series of reflections about our exciting transition - the acquisition of WfW by WaterAid America and El Porvenir. We hope this provides a "peak behind the curtain" into nonprofit acquisition and why we're so excited about the next chapter! In our household filters and micro-lending pilot project this past year, we disbursed close to 800 loans with a repayment rate of 98%. Thanks to Robert Gradoville Jr for showing us the way!!
On June 15th, we had the official launch of the Program Alliance Agua Para Waslala - El Porvenir and WaterAid America assumed our mission to achieve universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene for everyone living in Waslala by 2030!
