The Borough office will be closed on December 31st and January 1st but the door will be unlocked and we will re-open for regular business on Monday, January 4th. We appreciate everyone's patience over the past few weeks and look forward to seeing our resident's smiling faces live and in person again after the holiday. Don't forget the fireworks on Thursday evening and we hope you all enjoy the upcoming New Year's weekend.

Hey Watsontown, don't forget WABA's Holiday Decorating Contest. Applications are still available and need returned to the Borough Office by Monday, December 14th if you're participating!!! Winners are being announced on Friday, December 18th!!! The town looks awesome - don't forget to enter your house in the contest!!!

Watsontown Borough Council plans to end 2020 with a bang on New Year's Eve. The fireworks show starts at 6:30 PM on Thursday and will be shot off in the same place as the regular July 4th show. We are excited to do this for our residents and look at it as a positive way to end a very difficult year. We hope you enjoy the fireworks show and on behalf of Borough Council, the Mayor, police department, DPW, and office staff, we wish you all a Happy and Healthy 2021.

FESTIVAL OF TREES Have you strolled the downtown Business section of Watsontown and enjoyed the decorated Christmas trees Thank you to the businesses for sponsoring and decorating the trees, also thank you to those organizations that volunteered to decorate some of the trees. The best part is YOU get to be the judge, please vote for your favorite tree at the Borough Office. The winning tree will receive a Gift Certificate from The Teek. ... Tree judging will start Dec. 4 and winner announced Dec 18.

Congratulations to Joshua Rogers for winning the Borough's "No Shave November Contest" which benefited the Chief Carl Reed Christmas Fund. The winner was picked at random from all entries on December 1st - Joshua received a gift certificate for a free haircut and beard trim from Rene’s Barber Shop. Thanks to everyone who participated !!!

If anyone is in need of a Christmas tree there are 4 behind Rene's Barbershop that are free for the taking. The trees are first come, first served, so if you need one go get it.

A Watsontown Borough employee has tested positive for Covid-19. The Borough office is staffed but out of an abundance of caution, the door will be locked until further notice. Please utilize the drop box in the lobby for electric bills and feel free to call us for other needs or concerns. 570-538-1000

Due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in Northumberland County and across Pennsylvania Watsontown Borough Council has decided to cancel the November 23rd Workshop meeting.
